Girls on the Run - Sierras

Gotr-s sponsored two 10-week training programs at elementary schools or other sites in the tahoe-truckee unified, lake tahoe unified and washoe county school districts, in which participating Girls not only trained physically for a 5 kilometer Run, but learned self-respect and habits of a healthy lifestyle. the training programs were held at the various elementary and middle schools or sites in the truckee/lake tahoe/reno area. A total of 442 Girls participated in the fall program, with 281 participating in the spring program. Camp gotr hosted 96 Girls in the summer of 2022.

Gotr-s sponsored two 5-kilometer runs during the last fiscal year - one in reno, Nevada on november 13, 2022 and one in truckee, California, on june 10, 2023, with Girls primarily from 3rd through 8th grade participating, alongside parents, siblings and friends. A total of 442 Girls participated in the reno Run, and a total of 281 Girls participated in the truckee Run. Camp gotr ends with a celebration at camp for the Girls where they display the art and items they have worked to create all week.
