Program areas at Girls Rugby
Total registrations was 767 for 2022, a 25% increase from 2021. We delivered over 15,000 activity hours, provided over $8,400 in scholarships, and engaged 125 volunteers. Of the 767 players, 53% were new to Rugby at 412 players. Player surveys reported: 92% had fun and made new friends 85% reported increases in confidence and a sense of community 93% loved their coaches(continued on schedule o):family surveys reported: 90% of parents/guardians surveyed loved the season 88% reported increases in confidence in their children 83% said their children were better team players 94% loved the volunteer coaches that their children hadof the 125 volunteers... 96% loved their experience working with Girls Rugby 98% felt they made an impact 94% felt supported in their roles 98% loved the Girls Rugby curriculummajor accomplishments from 2022: Girls Rugby received a grant to partner with the level up program in san diego where we delivered an after-school program for schools in san diego county. 96 players participated in the program led by 15 coaches. Two of our coaches were us olympians and we had an 11% conversion rate into our Girls Rugby spring season. Olympian and tiktok star, ilona maher, played a big role with our organization by getting involved in our local san diego program, raising money for Girls Rugby, and serving as an inspiration to our membership. Girls Rugby, in partnership with women win, completed an international exchange program with a brazilian organization, empodera. This was the second half of a program that took place in 2020, where 12 brazilian coaches were welcomed to denver, co, usa for a week of learning and exchanging ideas to help empower more Girls through sport. Girls Rugby co-founders jenn heinrich and erin kennedy attended the iwg world conference on women in sport and the Rugby world cup in new zealand.
