Program areas at Give Kids the World
For 37 years, Give Kids the World village has fulfilled its mission to create happiness, renew optimism and ignite an enduring sense of hope in the hearts of nearly 200,000 critically ill children and their families from around the World during life-changing week-long wish vacations in our whimsical nonprofit resort...but we haven't done it alone. See schedule o.thousands of volunteers, corporate partners and donors have contributed their time, passion and resources, enabling us to keep founder henri landwirth's long-ago promise to never turn a wish child away. And today, that commitment has never been stronger. With empathy and compassion as our cornerstones and integrity as our north star, we leveraged our collective talents to emerge from the pandemic with greater resolve and unwavering determination to make a lasting impact on the precious families we serve; and together, we achieved a remarkable milestone - welcoming the largest number of wish families in our history this fall. It truly does take a village. We are grateful beyond words for the efforts of countless caring supporters whose contributions have enabled us to continue innovating, collaborating and changing lives. Over the past year, we debuted olivia's oasis, our new relaxation spa for wish parents and adult caregivers; made our iconic star experience even more magical; delivered the joy and wonder of the village to thousands of alumni wish families nationwide during our summer road trip, kickstarting the launch of our global alumni club; elevated the food & beverage experience for our families, taking our dining operations in-house; and took our signature gala on the road for the first time with a mardi gras-themed celebration in the big easy. Most importantly, we helped thousands of wish families relax, reconnect and recapture precious moments that may have been missed due to a child's illness.
