Educational activities through a multitude of activities, Glma seeks to improve the Health and well being of lgbtq+ patients by educating providers and all Health Professionals, patients themselves and policymakers at all levels about the specific Health needs of lgbtq+ people. A central component of glmas educational work is the Glma annual conference on lgbtq+ Health, the worlds largest scientific meeting focusing on lgbtq+ Health. The annual conference annually attracts more than 500 participants from around the u.s. and world. The confernece offers continuing education credit for a broad variety of Health Professionals in all aspects of lgbtq+ Health. Glmas 2023 annual conference on lgbtq+ Health was held virtually and hosted 573 attendees.
Patient referral and education another key component to glmas education work is ensuring patients are educated to address lgbtq+ Health concerns with providers. Glmas patient education series top Health issues you should discuss with your provider shares key information about Health issues affecting lgbtq+ communities. This tool is also a primer for providers interested in learning more about lgbtq+ Health concerns. Glmas lgbtq+ healthcare directory is an online provider directory connecting lgbtq+ patients with affirming and culturally competent providers. More than 14,000 lgbtq+ patients use glmas online provider directory monthly and the number of listed providers is nearly 3,000 across the nation.
Lesbian Health fund glmas lesbian Health fund (lhf) makes direct grants to fund lesbian Health research and is the worlds only research fund solely dedicated to the unique Health needs of lesbians and sexual minority women.
