Global Citizens Initiative empowers youth to become agents of positive change through engagement, education, and empowerment. It brings together young global citizens from all sectors of society and nurtures them as lifelong ethical leaders of positive change. Annually since 2014, it convenes 28-35 secondary school students from around the world at a 9-10 day summit where they engage with each other and are taught an academic curriculum that includes discussion-based learning and design thinking.

Program areas at Global Citizens Initiative

Since 2014, gci annually convenes 28 secondary school students from around the world at a 9-10 day summit. During the summit students engage with each other and are taught an academic curriculum that includes discussion-based learning and design thinking. The summit serves as the springboard for a 10-month fellowship focused on implementing a service project in their home communities based on the sustainable development goals. In 2018 gci held its first annual professional development seminar for 12 secondary school educators. Gci continues to expand its impact and engagement of the gci community in person and virtually.
