Program areas at Global Cleveland

In 2023, Global Cleveland significantly amplified its efforts and impact in building a more inclusive community that embraces immigrants and fosters opportunity for all, thereby catalyzing economic growth and prosperity for the region. Among the organization's accomplishments:using a place-based approach, Global Cleveland worked with partners to create a climate and environment where more individuals - including immigrants and refugees were able to participate more fully in social, civic, and economic life, contributing to a more prosperous and vibrant community for all. This included establishing new programs that helped to build bridges between new and long-time residents; expand economic opportunity; increase equitable access to services; and enable more new americans to participate in civic life.to provide a roadmap for hiring international talent, Global Cleveland expanded its Global employer program and efforts to serve as the standard for companies looking to hire international talent. This program details policies, processes, and partnerships that are core to expanding hire opportunties for immigrant, refugees and international students. To provide leadership opportunities, through our 9-month program for international newcomers, called Global rising. This program allows participants the opportunity to network with other international newcomers, meet with various leaders in our community, and develop leadership skills through experiential learning. The goal of the program is to prepare our region's foreign-born residents with the skills, knowledge, and tools required to grow and thrive in our community and help strengthen, develop, promote, and empower. To serve the international entrepreneurs, Global Cleveland offers Global entrepreneurs in residence (geir). This program provides a unique opportunity for international entrepreneurs to start and grow their business in northeast Ohio, all while receiving access to valuable resources and a cap-exempt h1-b visa.to serve out its mission, Global Cleveland worked to retain its network of more than 300 hr executives, ceo's, and organizations, committed to learning about hiring international talent. Additionally, Global Cleveland welcomed more than 3,250 new americans at oath swearing inceremonies, and hosted more then 1,200 international students for job preparedness events throughout the year.
