International affairs:it comprises of five important initiatives: Global forum latin amaerica and the caribbean main objective is to promote a space for debate and offer comprehensive platform for the exchange of ideas, discussion and analysis on the current role of latin america and the caribbean in the Global arena. Collaboration with the united nations: gfdd is non-profit organization with consultative status with many agencies of the un. Gfdd is dedicated to promoting and advancing issues at the forefront of the united nations' agenda by regularly participating in the un agencies' discussions and meetings and contribute substantively to reports and position papers. Collaboration with the oas: gfdd is civil society organization affiliated with the organization of american states (oas) and active supporters of the organization's aims and objectives, of the inter-american system and the summit of the americas program. Joint specific initiatives in the field of Democracy, regional integration, trade, environment, education, culture, drug abuse prevention are developed and implemented with different departments and divisions of the oas. Collaboration with una-dr: gfdd organizes in association with the united nations association of dominican republic activities such as the model un, model oas, model inter-american human rights system, which offer valuable learning and civic leadership experiences to thousands of young students from dominican republic and latin america.
Education:it comprises of five important initiatives: Global roundtables is an association with the united nations and other organizations where gfdd organizes regular interviews with ambassadors, think-tank experts and multilateral institutions representatives. Interdom which is the leading internship and academic study program in the dominican republic. Fellows program develops a community of scholars that contributes to the growing body of research on matters of international concern directly impacting the dominican republic. Publications: gfdd publishes books on topics relevant to the dominican republic and the world contributing to sustainable social, democratic, economic and cultural Development. Education & technology: gfdd offers training programs, seminars, workshops, conferences and discussion forums to audiences in the dominican republic.
Culture & diaspora:it comprises of five important initiatives: gdae introduces dominican students to the american style of liberal arts education and encourages dialogue between dominican students and their dominican-american counterparts attending these institutions. Dominicanaonline is an interactive portal in both spanish and english about the dominican republic that presents the country in all its facets to a national and international audience. Dominican film showcase contributes to the dissemination of the best contemporary films produced in the dominican republic, by dominican filmmakers, about dominican topics. Dominican get-togethers promotes the understanding and appreciation of the dominican culture, values and heritage by creating activities to bring together members of the dominican community that live in the u.s. dominican week: gfdd creates and participates in activities during that week in association with the american chamber of commerce of the dominican republic by promoting networking and creating opportunities, alliances and exchange between the dominicans residing in their homeland and abroad.
