GLOBAL G.L.O.W CONDUCTS PROGRAMS TO EDUCATE DISADVANTAGED GIRLS TO IMPROVE THEIR LIFE SKILLS TO SUCCEED IN SCHOOL, IN A CAREER AND AS A PERSON, AND TO PROVIDE RELIEF TO THE POOR AND DISTRESSED. WE FURTHER OUR PURPOSE UNDER THIS PROGRAM BY IDENTIFYING HIGH-POTENTIAL,UNDERSERVED OR AT-RISK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL-AGED GIRLS AND PROVIDING THEM WITH RESOURCES, MENTORING AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES.G.L.O.W.s mentorship program transforms the lives of strong girls, ages 10 - 15, from vulnerable communities to empower them. Combining literature and the arts, we help young girls foster self confidence during a critical period in their development. Our mentors are a talented group of university women who meet regularly with girls in small groups or one-to-one and share personal stories of their very own educational aspirations. The arts based activities at GLOBAL G.L.OW. open young girls eyes to the world of opportunities for a successful future and promote social-emotional support helping to build their communication, leadership, team work and healthy inner self through creative exploration. The HerStory Initiative hosts community-wide events around the world to celebrate the power of girls and their stories. Story Summit, a one-day event led by trained mentors and volunteers, provides a dynamic forum for girls and women from the community to share stories, celebrate and learn from one another. The HerStory Initiative hosts The Story Exchange, an interactive online library of stories about the lives of girls and women. Girls can both receive and share stories of strength; discuss stories that inspire them; ask questions and receive thoughtful, empowering responses from women around the world.G.L.OW. Run is a charity race benefitting Global Girls Leading Our World programs. The annual fun run also celebrates International Day of the Girl. G.L.O.W. Run is a meaningful event bringing families and individuals together to participate in a fun and healthy 5K and 1-mile kid's run, creating awareness about Global G.L.O.W. programs and helping to build strong relationships with the community to assist with empowering more children throughout the world.
