The philippines: in 2023, grw continued its multi-year project with a cohort of eight ngos in the philippines, all working to improve safety and access to justice for Women and girls. Funded by cummins, inc., project work this year included an in-person conference in manila in may 2023, as well as monthly training sessions of the systems advocacy learning lab, in which cohort members learn and apply the five essential skills of systems advocacy to self-selected projects within their respective communities. The project is ongoing through march of 2025. Caws north dakota - in 2023, grw worked on behalf of caws north dakota to conduct a state needs assessment a statewide needs assessment of the strengths and gaps in north dakota's response to domestic violence. This project addresses north dakota's requirement to conduct such an assessment of north dakota's services to survivors of domestic violence, family violence and dating violence under the family violence prevention and services act grant, the federal funding stream dedicated to the support of emergency shelters and related assistance for victims of domestic violence and their children. Grw conducted a series of focus groups and interviews with survivors throughout the state, which provided the data underlying the report "many voices nd," published in september 2023. Mpd: our assessment of the minneapolis police department's response to domestic violence identified multiple policies and practices that undermine victim safety and offender accountability. We recommended 27 reforms to address this and release our report to the public in june 2023. We traveled to armenia, Georgia, latvia and bulgaria to assist local ngo's to train and consult with legal and law enforcement professionals and community advocates in each county to coordinate and better respond to violence against Women. Australia: in australia we continued building capacity to reform the community response to violence against Women with our event, beyond training: changing and auditing the institutional response to family violence.
