Continuing research for the advancement of sustainable waste management.Including:Process development: Application of thermal spray techniques for combatting high temperature corrosion of super heater tubes of WTE plants; survey of beneficial use of carbon ash.Publications: Translation of EEC-Columbia WTE guidebook to Spanish and Portuguese languages; location study of WTE facilities around the world; Carbon mitigation cost of WTE and comparison of other waste management methods.WTERT 2016 Conference at Columbia University was attended by industrial and academic leaders concerned with the recovery of materials and energy from around the world.Initiation of WtERT-Cuba organization at Universidad del Oriente in Santiago de Cuba.

Thanal Project. Grants of $33,000 to Thanal company of Indi in conducting a wide information campaign as to the proper way of disposing recyclable and non-recyclble materials to households and also to high school students in the city of Trivandrum of Southern India. Assistance to project by Ranjith Annepu of GWC. This project is continuing in 2017.
