Childhood education - head start program provides a preschool program for the 3-5 year olds and early head start 0-3 year olds, 95% and 94% respectively, of whom come from families at or below the poverty level. We served 94 children in head start and 35 children in early head start and 5 pregnant mothers during the year
Senior services - senior program provides nutritious meals to the elderly population, light housekeeping, personal care, respite care, and medical escort in a two county region in the upper peninsula of Michigan. We served 1,503 people in this program during the year.
Housing, weatherization, & energy assistance - the housing and weatherization programs assists families purchasing a home and provides materials and instructions to self-apply weatherization measures to reduce energy use and lower energy bills. During the year, 181 people received homeless housing assistance and 44 people received weatherization assistance and 99 received water/sewer assistance through the liwap program.note: this client assistance side of this program ended august 2022. Covid emergency rental assistance program - the state of Michigan's covid emergency rental assistance program ("the program") is designed to keep Michigan residents who fell behind on their rent and utilities during the covid-19 pandemic in their homes. The program utilizes a collaborative Community process to expedite rental and utility assistance to covid-19 affected tenants and their landlords.
Food and Community services - the food distribution program provides food and supportive services to families and senior citizens. This includes the distribution of foods provided by the united states department of agriculture. The organization distributed commodities to 1245 recipients during the year.diaper bank program provided diapers to children and families distributing diapers and diapering supplies to 117 recipients during the year.
