Program areas at Greater Chicago Advanced Manufacturing Pship NFP
GCAMP introduces students and other job seekers to high-tech, in-demand opportunities within the field of manufacturing in order to build a future manufacturing workforce. GCAMP accomplishes this by hosting career development manufacturing tours; visiting schools to share information on manufacturing career pathways; creating and disseminating career pathway resources online; and promoting work-based learning, internships, apprenticeships, and entry-level job opportunities.
GCAMP supports, celebrates, and encourages students who are advancing their industrial knowledge and experience by funding grants for student clubs and programs that align with industry and manufacturing principles, such as building, engineering, design, machining, welding, and robotics, and by attending and participating in events and competitions held by the aforementioned clubs and programs.
GCAMP connects Chicago area manufacturers with their potential future workforce. GCAMP accomplishes this by educating manufacturers on effective workforce development strategies and introducing manufacturers to educational partners through manufacturing breakfasts at local schools, bringing manufacturers into schools to talk with students about career pathways, and sharing with manufacturers opportunities where they can become involved in local schools.
