Program areas at Golden Retriever Rescue of Michigan
The Rescue took in 38 dogs in 2016 and placed 38 of them into eligible foster homes. This saved the dogs from unhealthy environments or saved them from euthanization. Seven dogs were placed in hospice care. Our volunteers fostered, transported, and provided veterinary care for these dogs and helped out in many other activities.
We educate the public by organizing animal Rescue events. At these events we educate owners about reponsible pet ownership. This includes the inmportance of vaccinations and healthcare, spaying & neutering as well as general information about our group.
We interview and evaluate applicants prior to adopting our dogs. Our group adopted out 28 dogs in 2016.
