Program areas at Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio
Donated goods program: the largest funder of Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio's mission services. Collection, processing, and sale of donated goods in retail outlets to provide revenue for job readiness skills, training and education, and work assessment for workforce development programs provided by Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio's mission services team members. Considered mission integrates, retail locations provide space for on-the-job training, assessments and placement opportunities for program participants. Goodwill operates 13 brick and mortar retail stores and 4 standalone donation stations throughout Northwest Ohio. Team members handled 761,220 transactions in brick and mortar retail stores, and served 362,970 donors. See schedule o.approximately 163,260 pounds of donations were collected from high school's donation drives, and 6.6 million pounds of material were diverted from landfills. Mission services: assist individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment enhance their job readiness skills and/or link with employers. Identify individuals work interest, abilities and competitive employment barriers related to job readiness skills. Work with the client one-on-one through our workforce development programs in order to promote employment and financial independence. We proudly served over 6,600 individuals with in-person workforce development programs, served 2,097 job seekers using virtual capabilities, and placed 420 individuals in jobs throughout Northwest Ohio. Goodwill works with over 50 partners throughout the 13 counties to ensure wraparound services are available for barrier removal in order to enhance our client's workforce development experience.
Contract services: various contracted services provide revenue for job readiness skills training/education and work assessment for Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio's workforce development mission services programs. The majority of contracts include commercial cleaning and commercial lawn care services. The contracts provide space for on-the-job training, assessments and placement opportunities for program participants. This department has nearly 40 contracts throughout Northwest Ohio, employs over 70 team members, and is considered to be mission integrated.
