Program areas at Goodwill Industries of the Valleys
Workforce development - Goodwill receives federal grants designed to assist individuals who are low income, dislocated, over the age of 55 and on a low income, youth that are at-risk, and other individuals who have barriers to employment. Goodwill provides training and education to prepare individuals for employment opportunities and helps them to find a job. Through training and employment programs individuals are able to achieve the pride, dignity, and self-respect that comes from earning a paycheck and contributing to the community.
Source america - Goodwill contracts with the federal government to employ individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. These individuals provide janitorial services in local federal facilities thus allowing them to live and work independently.
Work training services - Goodwill procures grants from local, regional, and national foundations, companies, and municipalities to fund programs that help individuals get back to work and gain greater independence. Individuals served included youth, adults, and seniors with disabilities and other barriers to employment, such as incarceration and youth who are at risk of dropping out of school or involvement with the juvenile justice system.
