Program areas at Goodwin House Home and Community Based Services
Goodwin House Home and Community Based Services (ghhcbs) was formed on september 18, 2019 as a nonprofit corporation organized under the laws of the commonwealth of Virginia. Ghhcbs was formed to further the exempt mission of its supported organization, Goodwin House incorporated (ghi), by housing in a new subsidiary organization certain health and care Services that broaden and extend the Services more traditionally offered in continuing care retirement communities, also called life plan communities. These support Services are envisioned to include Home health Services, and other clinical Services. (continued on schedule o)on january 2, 2020, ghhcbs entered into an agreement with the temple foundation, inc. (another 501(c)(3) charitable organization) under which the Home health Services they owned and operated (known as the Virginian) were conveyed to ghhcbs together with a cash payment to fund the expenses and support the growth of the Home health operations. The Home health business furthers the organization's exempt purpose by meeting the Home health needs of the residents of ghi's continuing care retirement communities, and additional individuals within the organization's service area having need of those Services.
