Historic preservation & economic development - preserve rural landscape and historic buildings. Foster local sustainable economic development. Provide Community space to convene meetings, events and classes. Offer workshops to strengthen small businesses.
Food system - provide direct monetary grant to named supported organization, whidbey island nourishes, which helps those experiencing food insecurity including providing meals for low income childern outside of school hours.
Essential services - address the emergent needs of people experiencing housing insecurity or displacement. Provide direct monetary grant to named supported organization, south whidbey at home, which provides services for seniors aging in place.
Environment - provide direct monetary grant to named supported organization, whidbey watershed stewards, to preserve rural landscape and ecosystem. Promote local farmers.
Preservation of historic buildings, rural character and natural environment of island county through economic development to combat Community deterioration.
Community and cultural development by holding events and a weekly farmer's market (events curtailed due to pandemic).
Work collaboratively with local nonprofits by providing direct monetary grants for essential needs and emergency services. Provide free Community space in our building to hold meetings, workshops and classes (under public health guidelines).
Program to provide space to businesses that contribute to the rural tradition and character of island county and to facilitate economic development and combat Community deterioration.
