Phase 1: Vaccine Hunger GamesIn the race for limited vaccines early on, GOTVax identified access issues that prevented people from getting the vaccine.GOTVax focused on:- Door-to-Door Vax: Made housecalls to vaccinate homebound residents, nursing homes, public housing facilities (4,600 vaxxed people in Boston). - Extended Hours: Organized community vax clinics for 2nd & 3rd shift workers, sites open 4am-7am, open to midnight (18,000 people at early AM/midnight clinics in Chicago). - Help sign up appointments: Food pantry deliveries and pick-up sites became vaccine appointment sign-ups spots (6,200 appts made for people in Baltimore). - Non-traditional partners: Partnered with trusted immigration law firms and services agencies to offer safe space for undocumented communities vaccine service (12,000 vaxxed people in Las Vegas/Compton). Phase 2: Mobilize the vaccinated to reach not-yet-vaccinatedTo bring out outreach and organizing to scale, GOTVax expanded its program to six cities to run an aggressive comprehensive campaign that uses the latest voter engagement tactics and technology in field, phones, text, digital and relational organizing. GOTVax: - Contacted 1.4 million through direct contact at least 10x; 810,000 were contacted 15-17x (phone, door2door, in-person/virtual events, text). - Reached 4.6 million through social media with 9-13% engagement rate. - Recruited 7,225 super-influencers to encourage their unvaccinated family and friends to get vaccinated.- Helped 209,000 people to get vaccinated who share they wouldnt be vaccinated without GOTVaxs help.
