Program areas at Grace Initiatives A NJ Nonprofit Corporation
Grace Initiatives provides assistance to pregnant and parenting young women, with the mission of empowering them to make A healthy plan for their futures and their children's futures. The residential home, for Grace's place, provides shelter and A family-living environment, free of charge, to young women, aged 21 and under and is located in lanoka harbor, NJ. Since its founding in 2004, Grace intiatives has provided housing to over 60 young women and their children. The counseling program "my baby and me," provides weekly one-on-one workbook sessions with A peer counselor. Additionally, A full-range of life skills education is offered through the "earn while you learn" program, and job-skills training is provided and practiced at chapter2 thrift store, A social enterprise started in 2009. Over 70 additional youth have been counseled, mentored, and supported through "the real deal" program; A non-residential support group for young parents.
