Program areas at Grand Rapids Pride Center
In 2023, our organization achieved significant milestones and made substantial progress across various areas:strategic planning and mission development: through strategic planning efforts, we developed a new mission, vision, and guiding principles, aligning our organization's focus and direction with our values and goals.expansion of therapy assistance program: we more than doubled our impact in the therapy assistance program, reaching a larger number of individuals in need of mental health support.establishment and growth of essential needs pantry: we successfully opened and expanded an essential needs pantry, providing vital resources to those facing economic hardship.enhanced bipoc inclusive healthcare services: we continued our commitment to providing more inclusive healthcare services and resources for bipoc communities, ensuring equitable access to holistic healthcare.launch of a user-friendly website: we launched a new website aimed at improving accessibility and navigation for underserved individuals. The website helps folks access a comprehensive directory of 2-slgbtq+-friendly doctors, dentists, therapists, financial service providers, legal advisors, std testing centers, and other businesses and services, facilitating easier access to vital resources for marginalized communities.in addition to our programmatic achievements, our organization successfully executed two large-scale fundraising events in 2023, including our flagship event, the Grand Rapids Pride festival and the prism awards. This annual festival continues to experience remarkable growth and has become one of the largest one-day festivals in grandrapids, celebrating inclusivity and diversity. These fundraising efforts not only provide vital financial support for our initiatives but also serve as platforms for promoting our mission of inclusivity and community empowerment.
