Program areas at Grand Valley Resettlement Program

JDA International currently operates the Grand Valley Resettlement Program (GVRP), whose mission is to assist in the resettlement of Afghan parolees, refugees, and SIV beneficiaries in the Grand Valley region of Grand Junction, Colorado. The program aims to develop long-term relationships with these Afghan families and integrate them into society, with over 150 community members and various churches supporting this effort. As of December 2023, GVRP has successfully resettled 71 Afghan evacuees, comprising 14 families, in Grand Junction. The resettlement process involves providing each family with a dedicated support team to guide them through the transition. GVRP ensures that families have access to safe and furnished housing upon arrival, as well as assistance with applying for public benefits, transportation, and employment opportunities. To aid in their integration, GVRP enrolls adults in English language courses and facilitates school enrollment for children. Additionally, families receive essential resources such as cellphones, computers, and printers to help them navigate their new environment and stay connected. GVRP's comprehensive support services are designed to address the diverse needs of resettled Afghan families, ensuring a smooth transition andempower Afghan families to achieve self-sufficiency, economic stability, and successful integration into the Grand Junction community.
