Program areas at Grant Wood Mississippi River Region
Prairie Creek Connections-Create linkages between Prairie Creek Recreation Area, the city of Maquoketa, Hurstville Interpretive Center and Maquoketa Caves State Park. Project includes paved connecting trails, a pedestrian/bike bridge over the Maquoketa River, enhanced stormwater management at Hurstville, improved access for persons with disabilities, shelters and signage at Maquoketa Caves State Park.
Maquoketa River on the Move-All three counties of the region link via the extensive water trail on the Maquoketa River. Work on this project includes barrier removal, improved access, support for outfitters, additional way-finding and enhancements at destinations along the way.
Crossing the Wapsi-Construction of a one mile trail connecting historic Hale Bridge to Anamosa, an open air shelter and bathroom at Hale Bridge, and Oxford Junction wildlife area expansion.
