Dendrochronology research - a three year spinoff of zach merrill's research at Gratiot Lake Conservancy. This involves engaging undergrad students kcfc the program director and zach merrill in the design and installation of interpretive signage. The signs provide educational content about historically significant trees and various tree species around Gratiot Lake.
Beach cleaning - Gratiot Lake Conservancy hosted a september shoreline clean-up of Gratiot Lake in partnership with the alliance for the great lakes adopt-a-beach program. Volunteers picked up over 20 pounds of trash from the shoreline.
Gratiot Lake Conservancy's mission is to conserve the natural environment of Gratiot Lake and its watershed, and to promote environmental stewardship through education and research related to the ecology and cultural history of the area.
