Program areas at Greater Dover-New Philadelphia Food Pantry

Food distribution & home deliveryour Food distribution days are on thursday and friday every week. A families need is assumed. We do not limit how many times a family can visit with the exception that they are limited to 1 visit per day. There are about 3.25 members to each family. There are appoximately 4,811 separate families that visit through the year and we distribute 2,800,000 pounds of Food annually. Our home delivery is thursday of every week. We are limited to the number of volunteer drivers and are currently delivering to 75 families on a weekly basis. A family must show lack of readily availbale transportation and live within the county.
Food transportationthis requires our logistics manager to coordinate with akron canton regional Food bank and with sh agape bread ministry for delivery of 2,800,000 pounds of Food annully. Our volunteers unload these shipments three times a week.
Tuff bags program (back packs)tuff bag works with our local school districts to provide Food through the weekend. The school informs us as to how many back packs will be needed and our volunteers prepare them. The school picks up the back packs on thursday of friday. There are 300+ back packs being prepared weekly during the school year.
