Program areas at Greater Killeen Community Clinic
The Greater Killeen Free Clinic provided primary healthcare to low income, uninsured residents of Killeen and surrounding communities, providing 8,050 patient visits in 2023. Services included acute care, a chronic disease program for diabetes, hypertension and other long term health issues, medication assistance, case management, a Community wide dental day and optometry services. In addition, psychiatry and other mental health services were provided part-time at the Clinic site. The Clinic operated utilizing paid staff and volunteer staff, along with training undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of disciplines, including doctoral nursing programs. Through its contract with americorps vista, the Clinic continued its work at a Community level collaboration, creating the coalition for healthy living.
