Greater Leavenworth Museum actively preserves and promotes the heritage of the Upper Wenatchee Valley through its mission as the Upper Valley Historical Society. The museum was able to open in February 2021 after modifications to Washington's COVID-19 response mandate and welcomed over 6,200 visitors by year-end. A significant investment of time and financial resources allowed for expansion of the Indigenous First Peoples exhibit, which was completed in 2023.

In february 2021, after the state of Washington modified its initial covid response mandate which specifically prohibited the operation of museums, the greater leavenworth museum was allowed to open. By the end of 2021,the museum had more than 6,200 visitors and $23,445 admission revenues plus $3,516 in museum store sales. These three accomplishments shattered previous high annual numbers by more than 300% in each category.
