Program areas at Greater Owensboro Leadership Institute
The Institute hosted a Leadership Summit Becoming a Collective Force for Change. Nearly 200 community leaders joined the day long event. The Summit was packed with speakers and expert panelists focusing on leadership, innovation, partnerships, government, philanthropy, and service. The Summit served as a catalyst to connect community leadres and fuel collaboration.
The Harwood Institute and local partners engaged residents and community leaders throughout Greater Owensboro-Daviess County. Efforts to engage the community included 36 in-depth one-on-one interviews with a cross section of local leaders 14 leader roundtable conversations with approximately 540 community leaders Keynote presentation by Rich Harwood at the HL Neblett Community Center with approximately 75 citizens. A public report, intended to catalyze shared action, will be distributed thorughout the community in the Spring 2024. A roundtable with local leaders, organizaions and residents to discuss implications for the community, explore next step, and provide opportunities for people to step forward and begin working together will convene once the report is issued.
