Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council (gpac) supports the area's diverse Arts and culture community by increasing visibility of and support for the Arts; enhancing its capacity, efficiency, and effectiveness; and creating an environment and opportunities that are supportive of individual artists. The organization provides marketing assistance, database management, workshops, professional development, grants, accessibility programs, networking opportunities, advocacy, art sales assistance, Arts policy and research to local artists and Arts and culture organizations.
The organization was selected by the pa Council on the Arts to administer the pa partners grant program to the Arts community in western Pennsylvania. For the fiscal year ending june 30, 2023, $621,500 of pa partners grants were awarded.artist opportunity grants help artists hone their skills and craft by funding important professional development opportunities, such as travel to work with a mentor, participation in a festival or artist residency. For the fiscal year ending june 30, 2023, $950 of individual artists grants were awarded.
The office of public art (opa) is a public private partnership between the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council and the city of Pittsburgh department of city planning. The purpose of opa is to provide technical assistance and educational programs about public art in the Pittsburgh region. Opa works with organizations and individuals in the public and private sector to facilitate the development of and information about public art.
