Greater Spokane Action

Developing and Advocating for the GSA Legislative Agenda: GSA led the process to develop our network?s first Legislative Agenda in 2023 to take collective action together for the State Legislative Session. GSA engaged our network in taking action to pass bills on our agenda. GSA shared calls to action to generate emails and sign ons to sign on letters to legislators; signed onto organizational sign on letters to legislators in support of legislation; sent emails to legislators; and registered pro or con prior to hearings. GSA also encouraged network members to share calls to action on their legislative priorities with other members.

Supporting Justice Not Jails Campaign: GSA helped launch and supported the Justice Not Jails PAC to defeat Spokane County Proposition 1 that would have expanded the Spokane County Jail. GSA contributed time in kind to the Justice Not Jails PAC. GSA's Racial Equity and Network Manager served on the PAC management team. GSA shared information about the ballot measure with GSP members and on social media, invited members to endorse the campaign, and invited members to participate in canvassing and phone banking.
