3.CBC Opening EventAt the start of the Congressional Black Caucus 51st Annual Legislative Conference, GWBCC hosted a member reception to learn more about the organizations progress with the onboarding of its newest President/CEO, Aisha Bond. Members and other guests had the opportunity to learn how GWBCC will help Black business owners thrive in the District, while creating a space for community building, awareness, networking, and gaining valuable resources for their businesses.Registration for the event landed at over 1,100 registered and lead to 1,037 new email contacts to add to the GWBCC database.
2.International Kidpreneur Day Summit and Expo GWBCC sponsored/partnered with Tameka Young of the National Association for Kidpreneurs for a fun and informative event that included a kid designer fashion show, a marketplace for Kidpreneurs with goods for sale, networking opportunities, a financial literacy session, life-skills, and a mental health discussion. In line with GWBCCs mission, the National Association for Kidpreneures seeks to provide opportunities for kidpreneurs to create, grow, and develop business excellence through mentorship, peer connections, relevant resources and experiences that instill lifelong lessons in entrepreneurship.The target audience for this event was Kidpreneurs/business owners under 18, parents of Kidpreneurs, consumers, aspiring and Kidpreneurs. GWBCC was able to garner 3 new memberships during this partnership and brought 10 of the 30+ guests from active members who attended the event.
1.District Ward Tours GWBCC establish Ward Tours as a means to reinvest in our members by collaborating with them during our programming efforts and creating an additional value add. In completing 2 of the 8 ward tours (Wards 1 and 5), we were able to collaborate with 5 of our members businesses.Information sessions were held in one of the featured businesses in each ward where we invited community members and business owners throughout that particular section of the District. Sessions held included topics on business loans/grants, capital, and inancial growth. As a result of these tours, GWBCC was able to garner 9 new business owners who signed up for membership with the Chamber. Of those business that joined, 2 have been featured as highlighted members across all social media platforms to aknowledge both their business acumen and overall company growth/successes.
