Founded in 1976, the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (formerly the Ibero American Chamber) is a membership driven organization that supports the economic development of the Washington, DC metropolitan region by facilitating the success of Latino and other minority-owned businesses and the communities they serve through networking, advocacy, education, and access to capital. the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce envisions building a stronger business network for the competitive future of the region.

Program areas at GWHCC

The chamber held luncheons, seminars and other functions where speakers informed members on varie topices geared toward groth of the members businesses. The chamber also provided services to benefit the Washington convention center authority (wcaa) to promote tourism in the dc area
The chamber partnered with local economic development organizations to provide resources for growth and development of businesses of all sizes. Thus promoting local economic activity in allignment with the mission and vision of the chamber.
The chamber provided education programs for the arlington county, va business community. The chamber held education seminars for members and nonmembers to assist with creation and/or improvement of their business.
