Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce

In 2023 the Wilmington Chamber hosted a total of 127 networking events, ribbon cuttings and committee meetings. In addition, the Chamber launched the nc career coast talent attraction campaign aimed at attracting talent from outside the region to grow the size of the workforce as the number of jobs continues to grow. The Wilmington Chamber of Commerce foundation received a grant to launch and serve as the anchor institution for the healthcare transformation project to attract, develop, and retain nursing students and professionals in new hanover county. The foundation also more than doubled the number of students participating in the career and leadership development academy in collaboration with new hanover county schools to provide current new hanover county middle school students an opportunity to acquire career, leadership, and education pathway knowledge throughout the ten-month program. The foundation also received a state appropriation to pilot the expansion of the program to all seventh graders and to grow the number of eighth graders in the program.
