Founded in 1975, Greenacre Homes & School (Greenacres) is one of the most comprehensive and innovative agencies of its kind in Sonoma County serving boys and young men with special needs related to autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, post-traumatic stress disorder, developmental delays, abuse and emotional challenges. Located 55 miles north of San Francisco in Sebastopol, CA., Greenacres integrated services includes five (5) single-family residential group homes, a non-public school currently serving 14 school districts and a vocational training and life skills program.

Program areas at Greenacre Homes

Some of the children are not able to attend local public schools. For them, the Agency has a private school so that their education may continue even though they do not function well in a public-school environment.
The Agency provides residential care for developmentally disabled teenage boys. Capacity is 28 clients in four homes. Occupancy generally exceeds 90 percent. Labor costs tend to be high, primarily because the children require intense supervision due to the ways in which their disabilities manifest themselves.
