In 2023 112 greyhounds entered our program from the caliente track. Greysave placed 54 dogs locally and 58 were transported to other nga recognized groups. All dogs that come into our program are health checked, spayed/neutered,teeth cleaned, wormed, vaccinated, bloodwork done and placed into foster homes. Most of the hounds were healthy, about 30% had some type of injury. Those ranged from minor wounds to broken legs requiring extensive surgery and follow up orthopedic care. Once the dogs have completed our foster home program they are matched up with pre-screened families for adoption.
