Program areas at Grove City Community Library
Grove City Community Library (gccl) provides free Library services to residents of the Grove City borough, wolf creek township, liberty township, and pine township, and reimbursed membership to residents of springfield township. We provide a wide array of high-interest and high-quality fiction, non-fiction, and reference materials-including books, e-books, audiobooks, periodicals, dvd's and databases-through our adult, children's and young adult collections. We also provide free library-by-mail services for patrons who are temporarily or permanently homebound, along with interlibrary loan services for materials throughout the country. In addition gccl offers free internet access and access to our online databases and "fast track to employment" resources to all patrons in good standing. We participate in the access pa statewide initiative, offer reference services online, by phone, and in-person, and engage in a number of Community activities throughout the year (united way day of caring, halloween party, school outreach, pet rescue, daycares) aimed at serving the Community and raising awareness and funds for a number of non-profit organizations in the Community. Finally, in addition to working to cultivate the recreational and intellectual life of our Community by stimulating patrons' curiosity through providing materials and services, gccl also maintains a welcoming physical space that serves as a public center for reading, self-improvement, Community building, and research. Specifically, the Library helps children, young adults, and families succeed by providing an array of literacy-related, high-interest activities that foster literacy skills and personal enrichment while establishing a lifelong love of reading, learning, and creative exploration. Some of our most popular programs include: the annual downton abbey tea for adults, the american girl tea party for children, star wars day, a jane austen-themed annual dance and fundraiser, and our variety of book clubs for all ages. 1) summer reading program: programming for 3 years through 12th grade to encourage maintenance of reading skills for the upcoming school year. 2) programming for school age children focusing on book related events.3) bookworm babies: programming for infants and toddlers, 18 months to 3 years, to encourage families to read together and develop literacy skills. 4) adult programming
