Program areas at GWSCPA Educational Foundation
Learning: The Foundation offers continuing education seminars, webinars and conferences throughout the year in order to keep DC area finance and accounting professionals at the forefront of the profession. Topics range from technical standards to leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and we have a special emphasis on programming related to the nonprofit sector.
Membership & Community: The Foundation expands on our technical education via leadership development courses and industry specific development and networking opportunities for young professionals in various sectors of the accounting and finance community.
Nonprofit Symposium: The Nonprofit Symposium is one of the largest and most respected conferences of its kind in the country, offering a multi-day event for nonprofit finance and accounting professionals. The conference spans tax, accounting, auditing, managenent and technology topics and brings together hundreds of nonprofit industry professionals and service providers dedicated to the sector.
Scholarship Program: The Foundation offers scholarships annually to outstanding accounting students and future CPAs studying at DC area universities.
Nonprofit Basics: www.nonprofitbasics.org is a free online resource website dedicated to compliance and sustainability for smaller nonprofit organizations. The site was developed and is maintained by the Foundation and serves nearly 500,000 users annually.
