Program: new home construction - Habitat for Humanity of hillsborough county builds homes, community, and hope for low income people by partnering with our volunteer community, corporate sponsors, donors and local government to eliminate substandard housing in hillsborough county. This fiscal year we built 16 homes with the help of 14,428 volunteer hours. Expenses include 262,411 in estimated value of volunteer hours, expenses that have no cash outlay.
Program: "hp" - neighborhood revitalization - neighborhood revitalization encompasses the home preservation, living in place and veterans build initiative programs. These programs serve low-income homeowners who due to age, disability or financial circumstances, struggle to maintain their homes. Repairs consist of minor exterior work (painting and landscaping), critical repairs (roof replacements) and accessible needs (ramps). Neighborhood revitalization allows us to extend our outreach in the community while following the same basic tenets of eligibility. 32 families were served with the support of some organizations and 1,878 volunteer hours during our last fiscal year.
Program: restore - the Habitat for Humanity of hillsborough county restores offer a wide variety of new and used building materials, appliances, cabinets, furniture, flooring, and specialty items at discount prices. This allows low income families access to affordable goods for home improvements. All proceeds from the restores help fund the mission to build homes, communities and hope. This fiscal year our store had 73,230 shoppers and 8,800 volunteer hours and 557 individual volunteers.
