Habitat for Humanity - Lubbock

Construction of homes for low income families in need of housing. The families are selected based on need and must meet 3 qualification: 1) currently living in unsafe or overcrowded conditions. 2) have an ability to pay an interest free mortgage payment each month as well as the upkeep of the property. 3) show a willingness to partner with Habitat, they must give 500 hours of sweat equity on their home construction or in the Habitat office.

The Habitat restore sells new products and used donated items. Items are sold that cannot be used in the construction of Habitat homes. The profit is used to support the mission of building homes for low income families.

Habitat provides family support by guiding the families through the process of home ownership through home buyer workshops, homeowner calendars, Habitat university (classes about homeownership, repairs, mortgage payments, taxes & insurance), and events for homeowners to network with one another.
