Surplus and donated items are sold with the objective of reducing materials going into the landfills and providing the community with items for remodeling at low prices.
After a home is completed, the mortgage is discounted using the effective interest method over the life of the mortgage. In addition, a portion of the revenue is remitted to Habitat for Humanity International, Inc. as an annual tithe.
To provide affordable housing to low-income families that cannot afford commercial mortgages by building and rehabilitating homes using donated supplies, volunteer labor, contributed funds and properties. The constructed homes are sold to pre-selcted families at a value that approximates costs through no-interest financing provided by the Organization.
