Program areas at Habitat for Humanity - Seminole County and GRT Apopka FL
In partnership with our community, Habitat seminole-apopka has built and renovated almost 230 homes since our inception in 1991. Individuals, foundations, corporations, faith organizations, government and civic groups provide generous gifts to address the affordable housing crisis and provide possibilities to families that are struggling financially and desire a better life. In addition to generous gifts, resources, land and talent, 799 volunteers provided over 10,017 hours of service.
The foreclosure rate of our home buying program is low due in large part to our robust homebuyer education program. We offer mandatory classes on topics such as budgeting, planning, saving, home maintenance, civic engagement, wills and trusts, and predatory lending. A well-educated homeowner helps to minimize default on their mortgage as well as protect the community's investment in the home. Our comprehensive solution results in progressive life changes and empowers a generation of families for success in life.
