ReStore Program - The Habitat for Humanity ReStores are home improvement centers that accepts donations of new and usable building materials and household items, making them available to the public at discounted prices. The goals of the ReStore are (1) to raise money for Habitats other programs, (2) to divert usable materials from landfills, and (3) to make usable materials available to the public at a reasonable price. The ReStore also provides numerous opportunities for job training and works with several other not-for-profit organizations.
Home Repair Program - Habitat for Humanity partners with low-income homeowners who need assistance with critical repairs and maintenance issues due to age, disabilities, or other challenges. Habitat completes the requested repairs, using community volunteers when possible. Homeowners repay the costs of the repair projects via no-interest payments. The Home Repair Program goal is to help people remain in their homes by addressing safety, health and accessibility issues.
Homeownership Program - Habitat for Humanity partners with low-income households (80% AMI) to provide first-time homeownership opportunities. Selected homeowner-partners contribute sweat-equity hours working on their home (up to 500 hours) and purchase their home from Habitat through a no-interest Habitat mortgage and other special financing programs. Monthly mortgage and impound payments do not exceed 30% of the homeowner-partners income. Habitat both builds new homes and renovates existing houses and utilizes community volunteers wherever possible.
