Program areas at Haiti Educational Foundation
Scholarship - the Foundation funded the salaries of 669 teachers and staff who hold positions in the 40 schools with which we partner. We also provided scholarship funding to eighteen students who attended college in Haiti. Various other needs were met for schools in need of supplies throughout the year.
Other construction & relief projects - the Foundation funded the construction of partitions at st. barthelemy school, completed the security wall at st. timothee, provided furnishings for st. jacques (notre dame) and st. barthelemy, made repairs at various school properties, and provided relief aid. Teachers were given teacher training over the summer, and school supplies were purchased for students.
School construction projects - the Foundation completed construction of the st. jacque(notre dame) school which was a one-room school with little ventilation but is now a 10-room school that will house 120 students in k-6th grades.
