Program areas at Hamshire Voluntary Fire Department
Fire protection /rescue services were provided in the 125 sq mil area of the Hamshire vfd 911 jurisdiction, benefitting a population of approximately 5,500 residents. Services were also provided on amutual aid basis to neighboring communities and emergency responder jurisdictions. Fire apparatus responded multiple times to the heavily traveled part of interstate hwy 10 located in Hamshire vfd's jurrisdiction to assist law enforcement and ems with traffic accidents and medical emergencies.
One building is used for Department business meetings, ems training & fund raisin events. Occassionally it is rented to members of the public and other non-profits for private envents and fund raisers. The building is also used as a polling location for federal, state and other local elections. All expenses incurred related ato this building are included in program occupancy expenses
Emergency medical and ambulance services were provided in the same populated areas as the fire/rescue services and for motorists traveling interstate hwy 10 in Hamshire vfd's jurisdiction.
