Our rescue/adoption center continues to house approximately 99 cats while awaiting their permanent homes, while providing for another 11 in foster homes. Our weekly adoption events saw 185 cats find homes.we continued our partnership with local community cats' caretakers in their mission to trap, alter and vaccinate both feral and stray cats before returning them to their familiar colonies.we were able to maintain our pet food bank, with the continuing generosity of the local walmart distribution center, helping an increased number of caretakers of cat colonies, and individuals in need, feed the cats and dogs in their care. A similar relationship continues with amazon, which donates cat and dog food, small animal supplies, cleaning supplies, and paper products. We received a $12,250.00 donation for spaying and neutering from the john c williams charitable trust. A total of 132 animals were spayed or neutered in less than four months. In addition to the animals spayed and neutered through the grants, the hchf also paid for the spaying and neutering of many more animals.we paid for emergency veterinary care for an increased number of sick or injured animals, eliminating animals' suffering and enabling their recovery. Many of these were pets whose owners had no money for veterinary care, while some were strays. We received a $900 donation from the parkersburg area community Foundation's ruth hornbrook memorial fund for the purchase of battery operated lawn maintenance equipment.
