Program areas at Hand in Hand Multicultural Center
Hihmc empowers immigrant, ethnic and minority families, to access community resources, obtain legal documents, and receive health, medicaid and insurance information for healthier lifestyles, enabling immigrants to contribute actively and productively to their communities. Hihmc is authorized and recognized to provides professional consultation for legal immigration services and professional counseling for ethnic families and individuals of southwest Missouri and beyond in 2022, in more than 18 languages. Phone calls and face to face contacts for health/safety resources attended (more than 1800). Collaborate with community resources to provide vaccination clinics (120 vaccinations, coved information, etc. ); health education programs for families in spanish, english, korean, vietnamese, swahili,burmese,chinese, latino. More than 80 group presentations were offered in the community for uninsured and at-risk populations-health/safety, resources for bsic needs (prevention of disease, diapers, food, shelter) (community health awareness projects for language specific groups. Covid education--zoom and online groups and workshops. More than 17 support groups for individual adult education health and immigration resources, ethnic community/family challenges, and presented public service announcements,domestic violence/sexual assault community resources and partnering with community oganizations for all resources requested. Spanish, romanian, burmese,filipino, congolese, and vietnamese online and facebook presentations in native language.
