Program areas at Happy Brew
The Happy Brew vision is to provide employment, job training and leadership opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental differences in a community cafe where hope is shared. Over the last initial start up year, over 100 volunteers from the community came together to Happy Brew friend-raisers with support from private donations and businesses. Over $500,000 in kind donations have been made to build out the Happy Brew coffee shop to employ all abilities including those with down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy and those confined to wheelchairs. Volunteer time valued at more than $500,000 has been donated to reaching families, research, engineering and architecture that is universally accessible to everyone. Universal design goes beyond minimum ada standards to make access easier for all abilities. Our non profit coffee shop is a destination for others with special needs and their families.
