Harambee Performing Arts Harambee Performing Arts continues to empower students by offering exposure to various artistic disciplines. This year, we served over 140 students through the Harambee Summer Academy. Our year-end showcase was a resounding success, with over 800 attendees. Additionally, 56 scholars premiered in our Bethlehem Musical, held at Eliot Arts Magnet. We packed two full performances, an evening show, and a matinee, providing our scholars with an incredible platform to showcase their talent in singing, dancing, and acting.
Program Service Accomplishments for Year Harambee had an incredibly successful year. Programmatic accomplishments are listed below: Harambee After The Bell - After School Programming In partnership with Pasadena Unified School District, Harambees After The Bell continues to provide a safe space for students after school, offering a range of activities to build relationships, encourage leadership, and foster holistic development. This year, we served over 120 scholars throughout the school year. We expanded our programming by partnering with John Barge & Skye Wilson for art instruction and Side Street Projects, introducing woodwork for all ages. The success of these partnerships continues to enrich the lives of our students as they gain new skills and confidence.
Community Engagement These initiatives all help us keep a pulse on the community as well as a voice in places of power to be a voice for the voiceless. North Fair Oaks Empowerment Initiative, City Council Meetings, Partnership for Children Youth & Families (PCYF), Community Clergy Coalition, Kiwanis Club, Restorative Justice Group, Thanksgiving Meal Kit Giveaway, and christmas shop.
