The staff of Harbor House of Jackson pulled together to accomplish a list of goals and activities during the year ended september 30, 2023 including:1. Site visits by funding agencies - carf survey was completed in may 2023 with the highest level 3-year certification awarded to the agency; dmh financial audit was completed in fy23 with no citations; two dmh operational standards audits and one fidelity audit were completed in fy23 with minimal deficiencies all of which were easily resolved; va homeless program - no finding, va unit environment of care rounds - minimum deficiencies correction completed, united states probation - no finding.2. Clinical operations director and co-occurring disorder specialist implemented on-going training for clinical staff to increase consistency in person-centered client care and asam (america society of addiction medicine) level of care placement. 3. A new admissions/intake specialist was added to expand the clinical team and elevate initial assessment services. 4. Medical director, dr. randy easterling and mat program manager, nona white have grown the mat telehealth program from zero patients in march 2022 to over 200 by september 30, 2023. 5. Re-opening of asam 3.1 transitional program to access $75,000 in direct funding and $75,000 in matching vocational rehabilitation funding with a total of 18 individuals served from march through september 2023.6. Continuous review of vendors and services to identify and eliminate waste.7. Full transition to quickbooks online accounting system and bill.com for payables.8. Mdot grant value of $220,000 (25% match funding for the purchase of up to 2 ada passenger vehicles) was awarded in fy22 and possession of the first ada vehicles was completed in fy23.9. Harbor House requested and received increases in several dmh grant awards for fy23 for a total increase of approximately $290,000 over original allocation.10. Awarded new hiv grant administered by ms public health institute with no limit on the award value. The grant reimburses the agency for services already being rendered by the nursing staff with no additional cost increase. There has been approximately $6,000 earned and billed to the grant from july through september 2023.11. Harbor House has requested and received a total increase for sor3 year 2 funding (october 1, 2023 september 30, 2024) of $450,000 over prior year funding.12. Harbor House hosted an open House in december 2022 with representatives from samhsa, the dmh board and leadership team as well as local state agencies, funding partners, referral sources, alumni, and partner behavioral healthcare providers.13. Harbor House hosted a 50th birthday celebration commemorating 50 years of operations since 1973 with approximately 300 people in attendance including alumni, court staff, state agency personnel, former employees, current clients, veterans and board members.
