Harrison Center fulfilled its mission through the following: Served emerging artists and emerging patrons by hosting more than 73 art exhibits featuring local art; provided 40 artists with below market rent studio space; held monthly professional development events for artists; hired artists to do creative placemaking in neighborhoods; hosted our annual music and art festival to highlight local musicians and artisans under its rebranded name, the Bloombox Festival; made venues available to multiple community groups; developed and broadened the Cultural Entrepreneur Intern program serving 50 students; and hosted social events, art classes, Storytelling Drawing sessions, and collected oral histories for Greatriarchs, long-term residents of nearby neighborhoods.
