Harrison Center fulfilled its mission through the following: Served emerging artists and emerging patrons by hosting more than 73 art exhibits featuring local art; provided 43 artists with below market rent studio space; opened the Polklore Micro-Museum in Martindale Brightwood, held monthly professional development events for artists; hired artists to do creative placemaking in neighborhoods; hosted Bloombox, annual music and art festival to highlight local musicians and artisans l; made venues available to multiple community groups; served 50 interns in the Cultural Entrepreneur Intern program; and hosted social events, art classes, Storytelling Drawing sessions, and collected oral histories for Greatriarchs, long-term residents of nearby neighborhoods.
